Beginner Trail Running

This is an event for people new to running/trail running or who just like a slower pace. We will stick to a 12-13 minute/mile pace for about 3 miles.

A little intimidated by trail running (or running in general)? Totally get it – but we promise it’s fun!

This is an event for people new to running/trail running or who just like a slower pace. We will stick to a 12-13 minute/mile pace for about 3 miles. There will probably be some safety walks along the way in some spots where the trails are washed out to avoid any faceplants! (We will also try to gauge the experience of everyone before we get started and adjust as needed.)

Run will start by 6:30 pm!

Trail Etiquette:
We are sharing the trails with walkers and mountain bikers. We will quickly go over some trail etiquette before each run.

Hydration:
Even though it is hot, this 3-miler is short enough that if you’ve hydrated well during the day, you’ll be fine leaving water in your car for when we return. If you have not hydrated well or are uncomfortable not having it, please carry it with you.

Bugs:
Please bring bug spray with you and apply it before we go!

Sun:
The trails are wooded and do not have much sun exposure. Use your own judgment on whether you need sunglasses and sunscreen.

PLEASE NOTE: If Memorial has received heavy rains in the prior 48 hours, we may need to cancel this event as the trails will be closed. We will attempt to notify everyone, but please check the calendar and Facebook for updates as well!
