Taos, NM Hiking and Music

Hiking, Wheeler Peak, hot springs, cultural excursions, rafting, great restaurants, art galleries, and amazing live music…….cooler temps and amazing high desert atmosphere. This is one of my favorite playgrounds…..

Fly into Albuquerque early enough to either do a hike or lunch in Santa Fe on the way to Taos.

You should rent vehicles with trunks big enough to hide all of the luggage as you have to do at any trailhead.

 

We will be putting an itinerary together for exploring the area. You can choose to join us or you can choose to blaze your own trail. But the trip is centered around……..

September 5 -7   in Kit Carson Park, Taos, NM, This is within walking distance of the plaza in Taos.

 

You are responsible for acquiring your own reservations for the accommodations, rental car and concert venue. There are lots of wonderful places to stay in the area. Check out VRBO and AirBNB for houses with a kitchen or book a hotel room in the plaza. You will be within walking distance of Kit Carson Park where the concerts will be if you can book something near the plaza.

Tickets for the music festival go on sale in April and you may not be able to see the complete 2019 line-up until after then. I can tell you that this is predominantly Folk, Country and Americana music and these are not amateur musicians. 95% of these musicians have their own websites where you can sample their music. I bought the one day pass last year and will be buying the 3 day pass this year.

So you decide how you want to do this trip. Come join us for the music or extend your stay and come join us for music, hiking and exploration!
