Public – First, we’ll wake ourselves up with the delicious aroma of a leisurely Onion Creek coffee. After our caffeine kicks in, we’ll cruise off to the markets to shop for fresh produce, sauces, jams, and delicious baked bread. This 12-15 mile ride lasts about three hours, so bring plenty of water and a backpack to carry all your goodies home!
Plan on sticking around after the ride to enjoy lunch at Onion Creek Cafe. They are a locally owned eatery with great food, atmosphere and brews!
This is a perfect birding hike for a newbie or a birder with years of experience.
For the newbie, it’s just a hike with friends where you’ll see lots of birds. You can learn about them or not, up to you. For the experienced birder, with 5,000 acres of wilderness you never know what might decide to pay a visit! You don’t even need to be a birder if you just want to come out and enjoy a leisurely hike. Of course, birds are by no means the only wildlife we will see!!
Join us as we visit Finland the happiest country in the world and Europe’s northern most ski resort Lapland! We will be visiting Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, checking out a reindeer farm run by Sami people, explore the beautiful Arctic landscape and, if you are lucky, see the Northern lights!
Brazos Bend is a place that still looks amazing to me even in the winter! We will do about a 6-8 mile hike or so at a pace of 20 – 25 mins per mile. Depending on the speed of everyone who comes, we can break into two groups if needed.
After hiking, let’s have a picnic in the park! Bring your lunch to enjoy in the park.
Have you ever needed to rig a rain fly between trees while camping? Or needed a longer rope? Or have you tied a knot that you just couldn’t get out?
Skills in knot tying can come in handy during a variety of important activities, including boating, camping, kayaking, hiking, and knots are often useful for typical household functions.
