Everyone needs a little break to avoid getting burned out.

Let’s get together at Axelrad for a little social. Get pizza there or make it a pot luck by bringing something to share.

And since we’re sharing food, feel free to bring a little extra that we can donate to SEARCH. While many places are full and turning away additional donations/volunteers, SEARCH is still in need. If you bring cash, I’ll hit the store afterward.

SEARCH Help Needed:

Your help is needed as follows:

#1 NON-PERISHABLE FOOD

(canned meats, soups, beans, prepared pastas)

Toilet paper

Cleaning supplies

Laundry detergent

New underwear and socks (adult)

Items can be dropped off Friday, Sept. 1, 9 am – 4 pm and weekdays starting Tuesday, Sept. 5, 8 am – 5 pm at the main SEARCH building (2015 Congress Avenue.)

Financial assistance to help people move back into homes (furniture, transportation, leasing costs) is also greatly needed and appreciated to help us keep Houston’s number of people who are homeless low. To donate, click here. Please contact us for clarification or more information.

We will be dealing with this situation and its after-effects for many months to come. Please keep our clients in your thoughts and hearts, and please continue to check on us and how you can help.
