About the Trail:
We are hiking on an actual trail with hills! Yes, right here in Houston! This is not a pathed path which makes it interesting when you hike back at night, in the dark!
What to bring:
- Headlamp or light source (the trees get thick so you’ll need it)
- Water! Stay hydrated. It is also good practice to hydrate before your activity
- Bug Spray
- Wear long pants
- Wear sturdy shoes that are okay to get muddy
After the hike, we’ll pick a place and grab something to eat!
CAR BREAK-INS ARE COMMON
Cars DO get broken into in these parking lots. You are responsible for your own cars.
If you don’t want it taken, don’t leave it in your car!
Bring a light source
Flash light, head lamp, phone light. It will be dark but the end of the hike. Bring a source of light.
Water is required!
It is hot. Bring at least 20 oz of water to carry with you on the hike.
Dog-Friendly
This event is a dog-friendly event. Please bring plenty of water for your dog.
What happens if it is raining
We do not cancel before the of the event and then we only cancel if it’s dangerous.
If it is raining a little, we will still go but we will alter the route. Hiking on wet trails
cause erosion and is expensive to fix. Trails are closed after heavy rains.
We will follow the rules for open / closed trails.
Leave No Trace
Put any empty bottles or trash in the garbage cans.
Do not throw garbage on the ground. Noone is there to clean up after you.
