A little intimidated by trail running (or running in general)? Totally get it – but we promise it’s fun! Running in the dark is even MORE fun!

This is an event for people new to running – perhaps a hiker who wants to pick up the pace a bit, OR for people like me who just like a slower pace. We will join the BCO group for this run and usually stick to a 12-13 minute/mile pace for about 2.5 – 3 miles. There will be some walk breaks for safety, to check headcount, and maybe just to catch a breath!

Run will start by 6:00pm! Try to arrive a few minutes early so we can start and stick together.

Lighting:
Please bring your own light source with you! A headlamp or a really good flashlight if you don’t mind carrying it.

Weather:
See note below on trail conditions. When choosing attire for the run, it’s generally advised to choose clothing where you are slightly chilly before you start running. You’ll get warmed up quickly! You can also bring clothing you can shed and carry or tie around your waist. If you need further guidance, feel free to reach out.

Trail Etiquette:
We are sharing the trails with walkers and mountain bikers. We will quickly go over some trail etiquette before each run.

Hydration:
Use your own judgment on bringing water on the run with you! At a minimum, hydrate well during the day and have water in your car for when we return. Even though its cooler now, dehydration can still sneak up on you.

PLEASE NOTE: If Memorial has received heavy rains in the prior 48 hours, we may need to cancel this event as the trails will be closed. We will attempt to notify everyone, but please check the calendar and Facebook for updates as well!
