Brays Bayou East to Mason Park Ride

About the Event
A 24-mile out-and-back ride on the eastern portion of the Brays Bayou trail.

This is a moderately-paced exercise ride.

Additional Details
Starting from Kirby Drive, we’ll ride through the south ends of the Medical Center and Hermann Park, then continue through MacGregor Park, just south of the UH campus. We’ll push on, under I-45, to Mason Park, our turnaround point. A variety of wildfowl can be seen along the route, and especially where the bayou widens to pleasant, lake-like proportions at Mason Park.

Meeting Location
7550 Kirby Drive – Seuss Street.
Meet at the Portico Kirby apartments at 7550 Kirby, at the corner of Kirby and North Braeswood. We’ll rendezvous on Seuss Drive, (yes, like the Dr,) which cuts around the side and back of the property.

Parking:
Plenty of free street parking along Seuss St.

 

 

How to find the Group:
Look for the Bikers.

What to Bring:

• Helmet
• Water/sports drink*
• Snack
• Tools & spare inner tube in case of a flat tire.
• Sunglasses, sunscreen
• If cold: jacket or extra layer(s), gloves,

* How much water/sports drink you need depends on various factors: how hydrated you are before the ride, the temperature; & how strenuous the ride is for you. Most of us bring along at least one bike water bottle.
