Camping @ Lake Livingston
It’s camping season! Some of you might have off on Monday for presidents’ day so we thought it would be a good weekend to go camping! We’ll show you how to set up tents properly, how to cook with dutch ovens, discuss and practice photography and hike around the lake!
It’s camping season…Let’s get out of Houston and head to the lake! It m Some of you might have off on Monday for presidents’ day so we thought it would be a good weekend to go camping!
We’ll teach you how to set up tents properly, how to cook with dutch ovens, how to build a fire and hike around the lake!
A short drive from Houston, this weekend is perfect for new campers. If you decide you absolutely hate camping, it’s an easy drive home. Plus, just borrow some gear from us and we’ll take it home for you. Just let me know so I can bring enough. RSVP early as there is a limited supply.
While we are there, Lake Livingston has over 7 miles of trails to explore and … a huge lake! Bring your kayak or SUP. I’ll have a couple of kayaks with me that we can share or you can rent one from the park for $15 per hour.
Tents:
Tent space might be limited so it’s best if we share tents. I have a large tent where 4 people can fit comfortably or several tents where 2-3 people can fit comfortably.
It’s important that we keep track of how many tents we have. Once you RSVP below, go to the following site and add a tent if you are bringing your own, or sign up in a tent to borrow. (FYI – I am using a car share tool … seems to work well for tents too! 🙂 ) Email me at amyhope@htxoutdoors.com if you have questions.
Our sites have running water only. Just a short drive in the park, there are full bathrooms. Running toilets and showers! This trip really is perfect for beginners.
Carpooling:
We are only allowed 6 cars total so we need to car pool. I created a car pool sign-up here. If you can drive, please set up a car for people to join. Even if your car is full already, please add it to the site so we know the car count. With car pooling, it’s important to be on time and communicate.
State Park Pass
In the notes section, indicate if you have a state park pass. Try to get at least 1 state park holder in each car so all people in the car are free. Otherwise, it is $5 per person to enter the park.
Food:
Friday night Dinner, Saturday breakfast, Saturday Dinner & Sunday breakfast are included! We’ll have some snacks, too. If there is something in particular you want, bring it. Bring something for lunch. Sandwiches or food you can carry with you usually work well. BYOB drinks. No glass.
Refunds:
The last day to receive a refund if you are unable to join us is Feb 13th.
