Hiking Memorial Park
We are hiking on an actual trail near downtown Houston. This it not a pathed path like many of our Urban Hikes.
We are hiking on an actual trail near downtown Houston. This it not a pathed path like many of our Urban Hikes.
The Trails:
Trails are fairly easy here, though be prepared for a little mud and some hills. We will set an easy going pace for the group, usually between 20-22 min miles and explore as much of the trails as the group wants. We can even head over to the Houston Arboretum and explore their trails as well. We will just go with the flow and see how the group is feeling.
I would say plan for anywhere from 2 miles to 6 miles of hiking.
What to bring:
– Water
– Wear sturdy hiking shoes that are okay to get muddy
– Bug Spray
– Camera (it’s spring so flowers will be in full bloom and the birds will be out)
Parking:
Park at the parking lot for the Rugby Field. This is where we will meet up and start the hike from! This lot is just west of a larger lot that is in front of the baseball fields.
Meeting the Group:
Look for Emily and her pup Winter near the parking lot. She will have an HTXoutdoors sign and t-shirt on. Dog Friendly for Friendly Dogs 🙂
We can go grab some lunch after if the group wants to!
