White Water Kayaking in CO

Let’s hit the water while it’s still high!  This is a 7 hour trip in inflatable kayaks (includes getting gear and shuttles). Class II and IIIs makes this trip great for any experience level.

About the Trip:

Planning on a Moderate Full Day Ride which is class II and IIIs. Because the water is high, the section of the river that we’ll run will depend on the water level. We’re booking the Salida and BV town run, Moderate Full Day trip.

Experience: You must feel comfortable swimming in Class III whitewater and getting back into your moving boat.

How to Pay: 1) Sign up for verify spot available.  I will verify with the outfitter that a spot is still available.  2) If so, payment is due immediately thru the RSVP below, Zelle or PayPal.

Timing: Arrive no later than 9am. We hit the water at 9:30am. Your payment confirmation email from the outfitter will have a link for a waiver. Please complete it before hand to speed up the check in process.

What to bring: Gear is provided. Wetsuits, boots, helmets, life jackets. Wear a bathing suit or something NOT cotton to go under the wetsuit. If you have a long sleeve hooded water shirt, that will help under the wetsuit.

Transportation:  Fly into Denver.  You”ll need to rent a car to take a bus from Denver to Buena Vista (BV) or Salida.  BV is about 10 mins from outfitter and Salida is about 20 mins.  Amy lives in Salida but can pick you up in BV if needed.

Accommodations:  There are primitive campsites available on the river where the outfitter is.  If you need to borrow a tent, let me know.

Weather:  It’s usually in the 80s during the day and 50s at night.  This is dry 50 so much colder than Houston 50.  The water is cold!  The fee includes free wetsuit rental, splash jacket and booties.
