Rained Out: Full Moon Hiking Zen

We are hiking on an actual trail with hills! This is not a pathed path which makes it interesting when you hike back at night, in the dark!

This month we're adding some zen to your full moon hike! First we'll hike, then we'll end with some Yoga under the full moon.

Auhona has been practicing yoga for over 10 years exploring different styles. Off the mat, she is an Engineer who loves to spend time outdoors hiking & biking and traveling whenever possible to eat local delicacies. She will lead an all-level yoga session to relax under the full moon.

Plus, we have invited the Currents to join us!

The Currents, an affiliate of Buffalo Bayou Partnership, is dedicated to enhancing Houston's historic waterway, and raising awareness of Buffalo Bayou among Houston's young professional community.

Experience Level: All Levels

Casual hike. We'll go the pace of the group but this hike is more about meeting people than rushing to the end. About 22-23 minute miles.

What to bring:

  • Headlamp or light source
  • Water! Summer is here, stay hydrated. It is also good practice to hydrate before your activity
  • Bug Spray
  • Wear long pants
  • Wear sturdy shoes that are okay to get muddy
  • Yoga Mat if you're staying for yoga at the end

After the hike, we’ll pick a place and grab something to eat!

Water is required!
Stay hydrated... it's easy to forget to drink when it's not that hot out.

Dogs-Friend for friendly dogs
If the temperature is less than 80 degrees, you can bring your dog. You must bring water and poop bags for your dog.

You cannot leave dogs unattended during yoga.

Adults only. No kids
We have other events that are appropriate for kids.

What happens if it is raining
We do not cancel before the day of the event and then we only cancel if it's dangerous.
If it is raining a little, we will still go but we will alter the route. Hiking on wet trails
cause erosion and is expensive to fix.  Trails are closed after heavy rains.
We will follow the rules for open / closed trails.

Leave No Trace

Put any empty bottles or trash in the garbage cans.
Do not throw garbage on the ground. No one is there to clean up after you.
