W G Jones state forest is a wildlife conversation area managed by Texas A&M. I’ve been wanting to check it out for months now so come do a little exploring with me!
Meet at 10 AM at the District Office located at 1328 FM 1488. We’ll sign in and figure out which trails we want to explore. Plan on doing between 3-6 miles.
This state forest has a large population of the Red Cockaded Woodpecker, a federal listed endangered species. If we’re lucky, hopefully we’ll spot a few!
