Join us for an hour and a half, quick-paced hike through some of the lesser-known (and more adventuresome) trails our park has to offer.
About this Event
Hiking in Houston does exist! And we’re going to show you by taking you on some ‘hidden’ trails that even some native Houstonians don’t know about! And, it’s right here, inside the loop!
What to Wear:
These are actual trails!! Wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, as it’s easy to bang a toe on a tree root. You’ll be shocked at some of the "elevation" in the park that you wouldn’t expect from just driving by. Wear long pants, yes, even in the summer. It helps to protect your legs from bugs, critters and branches that might jump out and bite you! 😀
What else to bring:
- Water! Water is required.
- Bug Spray
- Sun Protection - hat, sunglasses, long sleeves, sunscreen
- Long pants and sturdy shoes
Where to Park:
Please, check the meeting location map (https://bit.ly/2M6GKST ) on the calendar before you head over to the park. It’s a big park, and we try and leave on time!
If the lot is full, there is plenty of street parking.
How to find the group:
Look for the HTXO sign for where the parking lot is. We’ll be on the grass at the back of that parking lot. (not standing in the parking lot.)
This Event is free for BCO & HTXO members and member guests and $5 for Non-members
