Canceled: New Moon Hike

The Buffalo Bayou has cool blue lighting along the trails, next to the bayou.

There is plenty of parking! We should have a food truck or two out there.

Check-in starts at 7pm … get there early to avoid the crowd.

Will you see the moon?  No! This one is a new moon hike which means the moon is not visible at all. The point is for it to be dark so we can see the full effects of the buffalo bayou lighting!

Parking: The Fonde Center is located on Sabine @ Memorial – the large parking lot is behind and towards Buffalo Bayou. City of Houston Lot H – Over 400 spaces available for public parking on weekends and after 6 pm on weekdays. Buffalo Bayou Park trails can be accessed from Sabine Promenade. – 29°45’46.6″N 95°22’24.8″W

DIRECTIONS: If you are traveling East on Memorial Dr., take the Sabine St exit and pass Sabine St and take the first right into the parking lot. If you are traveling West on Memorial Dr., turn left on Houston Ave, pass under Memorial and take the right hand turn into the parking lot on your right. The parking lot is connected to the Fonde Community Center’s Parking Lot located at 110 Sabine St, Houston, TX 77007. Once in the parking lot: drive to the rear of the lot near the water. We meet in the parking lot behind the Fonde Center close to the bayou.
