Hiking, camping & backpacking season is here in Houston!

And our October calendar is jam packed with adventure.

Plus, we have a special announcement if you're NOT a member yet.

But first, we want to show you inside of HTXoutdoors by taking a look at our September activities.

First up... Stay Cool in Houston!

Staying cool in the Houston Heat

One way to stay cool in the Houston heat is to PLAY IN THE RAIN!  We sure do get enough of it!

While stand up paddleboarding (or using a SUP as a float) on our camping trip in Pace Bend, we got a little rain! But that didn't stop anyone from having fun.

Our favorite places to SUP around the Houston area are Lake Friendswood and Lake Woodlands. Both are clean so if you get wet, you don't mind.

wakeboarding

And if that wasn't enough time on the water, we top it off with guided sunset kayak tours down in Galveston.  We have 4 spots left on Saturday's sunset float.  Click here to claim one.

When we're not relaxing on a SUP, we're picking up the action at Hangar 9 Wake Park in Conroe.  You don't need a boat or experience.  Just show up & start to ride.

The expert staff shows you everything you need to know.

Changing Gears

Last month we started hands on mountain bike 101 lessons.  There's a 1 mile loop in Sugarland that's great for beginners.  Buy doing the same loop multiple times, you learn quickly what to expect and you can make adjustments each time around.

We also went down to Brazos Bend State Park.  Lots of flat long trails to start getting used to your mountain bike.

Volleyball

Every month we head over to Sideout Volleybar for Happy Hour and Sand Volleyball.  You don't have to be good or even play for that matter! Come for a drink, play ping pong or even let your dog off leash in the dog park that's connected to the patio.

Rock climbing has become a regular thing... a perfect indoor sport during the Houston heat.  We top rope and boulder.  And our Event Leaders are great at showing newbies the ropes.
